Background:

Dan grew up in Texas before moving for a cooler climate to study philosophy at Dartmouth College. He then turned West, earning his law degree at Stanford. Dan began his legal career at law firms in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, representing clients in litigation and technology licensing transactions. He then went into government and worked as a supervising attorney at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Later, as Chief Investment Officer at a litigation finance firm, he managed large-scale investments in complex cases across the country. Dan has also run his own solo practice, serving a diverse client base on matters ranging from high-stakes intellectual property litigation to construction contracts and estate planning.

Dan lives in Mill Valley with his children and their beloved dog Otis. He’s an avid hiker, enjoys swimming for exercise, and is a lifelong music lover. He once played in the largest marimba ensemble to perform an arrangement of Barber’s Adagio for Strings, and at one point played drums in a Grateful Dead cover band featured on local radio.
